No. Journeys through the Zululand Wilderness Triangle are shaped around each traveller, and there are no set departures. The circuits on this page are starting points, and every element can be changed for pace, interests and length.

A three-part circuit linking Malkoha Lake St. Lucia on the Lake St Lucia estuary, the walking trails of Untravelled Trails on the eastern shores of iSimangaliso, and the community-owned Makhasa Private Game Lodge in Big Five country.

Return ferry transfers, arrival rituals, a pre-arrival welcome pack, all meals including an African High Tea and a boma dinner feast, and one guided morning and one guided evening activity of your choice each day. Land transfers between properties are extra.

Yes. Malkoha Lake St. Lucia sells a bed and breakfast stay with flexible lengths for guests who would rather set their own pace, and the property trails, decks and pools are open either way.

Enough time to shape it properly. The pre-arrival pack, the partner lodges and the land transfers between them all need arranging, and the more notice we have the more of the itinerary can be built around what you actually want.

Not at the lodge itself. Big Five game viewing happens at Makhasa Private Game Lodge, reached by land transfer, and can be woven into a curated journey. Malkoha itself sits inside a wetland park, with Big Five country an hour to the north.

No. Untravelled Trails is a specialist eco-tourism concessionaire and Makhasa Private Game Lodge is owned and operated by the Makhasa community. Malkoha Lake St. Lucia connects guests to both as part of a curated journey.
