Blue Marlin sits on the lawns above Scottburgh Beach, 200 metres from the sand and forty minutes south of Durban, with the Indian Ocean filling the view. Ceremonies run outdoors on the lawns with the water behind you, and move indoors for the reception when the light goes.

The resort takes the arranging off your hands. Guests stay on site across more than 100 rooms, catering comes from the same kitchen that runs the all-inclusive service, and the Mangwanani Dream Spa handles the morning of the wedding. Subtropical gardens, two pools and the beach give photographers plenty to work with.

Blue Marlin can host up to 100 guests. Ceremonies run on the lawns above Scottburgh Beach or indoors, and the indoor venues take between 40 and 100 guests depending on the set-up you choose.

Can we hold the ceremony outdoors?

Yes. The lawns at Blue Marlin are set up for outdoor ceremonies with the Indian Ocean behind, for up to 100 guests. Receptions typically move indoors afterwards, which also covers you if the weather turns on the day.

Can our guests stay at the resort?

Yes. Blue Marlin has more than 100 rooms across several types, so most wedding parties stay entirely on the property. Rooms should be held early, as a wedding block competes with general leisure demand on the South Coast.

Is there a spa for the morning of the wedding?

The Mangwanani Dream Spa is on the ground floor at Blue Marlin, offering massages, scrubs, manicures and pedicures. Treatments run by appointment and the spa asks for advance booking, so arrange the wedding party’s slots well ahead.
