The chalets at Burchell’s Bush Lodge are spread through indigenous woodland and landscaped gardens, each with its own private entrance and covered carport, so you park at your door and unpack straight into the bush.

Inside, a fully equipped kitchen opens onto the lounge and dining area, and the air-conditioning takes the edge off a Lowveld afternoon. Housekeeping services the chalet every day. Most guests still treat the covered patio and its built-in braai as the real living room, and most meals end up out there.

Burchell’s was my first introduction to South Africa’s accommodations and Kruger Park. It was a great stay. I knew ahead of time it was self catering, all I can say is I recommend you bring plenty of food. Also, the game drives are amazing and led by a great guide. He did an amazing job and really worked hard to show us all the animals of the park. Definitely book a full day or two, it’s much better than self-driving.

Burchell’s Bush Lodge has one-bedroom and two-bedroom self-catering chalets. The larger two-bedroom chalets take a family group including children of all ages. Current occupancy for each chalet is shown on its card in the booking engine.

Yes. Every chalet at Burchell’s Bush Lodge comes with linen and bath towels, and housekeeping services the chalet daily. Swimming towels are not provided, so pack your own for the pool.

Each chalet has a fully equipped kitchen opening onto the lounge and dining area, with a stove and oven, a fridge and freezer, a microwave and detergents. There is also a covered patio with a built-in braai.

Some lodges at Burchell’s Bush Lodge have stairs and are not wheelchair-friendly. Please call the lodge before booking so reception can talk you through which chalets suit your needs.

Yes. The chalets are air-conditioned and carry DSTV on selected channels, along with fans, a telephone and an in-room safe. Wi-Fi is available at Burchell’s Bush Lodge at no charge.
