FAQ

Burchell’s Bush Lodge is on Portia Shabangu Drive (R536) in Sabie Park, Mpumalanga, one kilometre from the Paul Kruger Gate to the Kruger National Park and roughly 42km from Hazyview.

From OR Tambo International Airport, take the R21, then the N12 towards Witbank, which becomes the N4 to Nelspruit. From Nelspruit follow the R40 through White River towards Hazyview and on to the R536. Full directions are on this page.

Turn left into the Protea Hotel off Portia Shabangu Drive and tell the hotel security you are going to Burchell’s Bush Lodge. Reception is up the sand road in a burgundy and red building.

The Burchell’s Bush Lodge WhatsApp line is available on weekdays during office hours and is not monitored after hours or over weekends. For anything urgent outside those hours, call the lodge or 24hr Central Reservations.

Dream Hotels and Resorts runs a 24hr Central Reservations line on +27 (0)861 010 347. Use it for bookings and enquiries when the Burchell’s Bush Lodge reception is closed.

GETTING HERE

From OR Tambo International Airport

Roughly 42km from Hazyview.

  • Take the R21 in the direction of East Rand.
  • Take the N12 towards Witbank.
  • This road becomes the N4 (toll road) to Nelspruit.
  • In Nelspruit, turn left at the second set of traffic lights (R40 Barberton / White River road).
  • Travel for 20km to White River, then turn left on the main road to Hazyview.
  • Follow the R40 sign towards Hazyview for roughly 40km.
  • At the T-junction turn left towards Hazyview.
  • Continue over 3 four-way stops.
  • At the second set of traffic lights turn right on to Portia Shabangu Drive (R536).
  • Turn left into the Protea Hotel.
  • At the hotel security, ask for Burchell’s Bush Lodge. Reception is up the sand road in a burgundy and red building.
