FAQ

Take the N4 east through Nelspruit, Malelane and Hectorspruit. About 20km past Hectorspruit, turn left at the Jackalberry Ridge and Marloth Park sign, follow 8km of gravel to the security gate, then 4km along Olifant Drive.

The resort does not recommend driving the 8km gravel approach after dark. Plan to arrive in daylight where you can, and drive carefully on the N4 between the Nkomazi toll gate and the Maputo border post, where trucks can hide turn-offs.

Marloth Park is entered through a security boom gate. Jackalberry Ridge sends your gate code by WhatsApp before check-in, and you sign in at the security gate on arrival.

Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is before 10:00. Late check-out is charged by the hour or part thereof, and the rate differs between the tented camp and the campsites. Confirm with reception when you book.

Reception is open Monday to Thursday from 07:30 to 16:30, Friday from 07:30 to 18:00, and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 08:00 to 13:00. The resort operates seven days a week.

Getting Here

Route note
The last stretch into Marloth Park is 8km of gravel, then 4km of tar on Olifant Drive. We do not recommend driving this road at night.

From Johannesburg
Take the N4 to Witbank, through the toll plaza and on towards Nelspruit. From Nelspruit continue on the N4 to Malelane, through a second toll plaza. Continue on the N4 through to Hectorspruit, roughly 17km from Malelane. About 20km after Hectorspruit you will see the Jackalberry Ridge / Marloth Park sign on the left-hand side. Turn left and follow the gravel road for 8km to the park entrance and sign in at the security gate. You will then be on a tar road called Olifant Drive. Continue for about 4km and Jackalberry Ridge is on your right.

From Durban through Eswatini
Travel along the North Coast Road and cross the border at Mananga Border Gate, which closes at 18:00, so carry your passport. Proceed towards Komatipoort and take the N4 towards Nelspruit before entering the town. Travel 12km and turn right at the Jackalberry Ridge / Marloth Park sign. Follow the gravel road for 8km and sign in at the security gate, then continue about 4km along Olifant Drive. Jackalberry Ridge is on your right.

From Durban without a passport
Drive the North Coast Road through Pongola, Piet Retief, Badplaas, Barberton and Kaapmuiden, then follow the directions above from Malelane on the N4.

N4 warning
Truck volumes on the N4 between the Nkomazi toll gate and the Maputo border post are high, and turn-offs can be hidden behind trucks stopped on the verge. Drive carefully and slow down early for your turn.
