Spekboom River

The Spekboom is one of the few streams in South Africa where trout breed freely. Both banks offer varied fishing for five kilometres, in a series of rapids, riffles, runs, glides and pools. At the height of summer it runs full and fast, and through the drier months it turns gin clear.

Braai Facilities

Both cottages have braai facilities, and iNsomi House has an indoor braai as well as an outdoor one. Firewood is supplied for the fires and guests bring their own charcoal and firelighters. The furnished patio outside each cottage is where most evenings end up.

FAQ

Yes. The wellness spa offers beauty and wellness treatments in a quiet corner of the resort. Treatments carry an additional cost and are subject to availability, so ask reception for the spa menu when you arrive.

Yes, Wi-Fi is available across the resort and in all self-catering units. Given the remote Drakensberg setting, speeds suit browsing and messaging. Heavy streaming may be slow.

The resort runs a backup generator. Some services may be limited while it is running, and there is no battery-operated lighting in the units, so a torch is worth packing. A generator fuel levy may apply.

Yes. The Dream Xplorers clubhouse has a games room with foosball, table tennis and air hockey, plus supervised activities. There is also a play area with a jungle gym and trampoline, a pool and outdoor sports.

Yes. The petrol station and quick shop at the main gate open daily from 08:00 to 17:00 and stock 95 unleaded petrol and 50ppm diesel. A convenience store carries everyday essentials.
