Partly. From the Presidentsrus turn-off it is roughly 12km to Olifants River Lodge, of which the first 4.8km is tarred and the remainder is a maintained gravel road.

On the R74 at Oliviershoek Pass near Bergville in the Northern Drakensberg, KwaZulu-Natal. It sits 36km from Bergville and 27.6km along the pass from the R712 turn-off.

O.R. Tambo International Airport is about 158km from Olifants River Lodge and Lanseria is about 186km, which puts the lodge inside a two-hour drive of Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Olifants River Lodge sits between Emalahleni (Witbank) and Middelburg on the R555. There is a gravel road from the Presidentsrus turn-off to the lodge, and the property is within a 200km radius of Johannesburg, Pretoria, Polokwane, Hazyview, Standerton, Nelspruit and the Kruger National Park.

From Johannesburg via the N12, or Pretoria and Emalahleni via the N4

  • Take the Middelburg West / Van Dyksdrift off ramp after Ultra City.
  • Turn left on the bridge to Middelburg and continue to a four-way stop.
  • Turn left onto the R555 to Emalahleni and travel for approximately 7.2km.
  • Turn right to Olifants River Lodge / Presidentsrus.
  • Travel approximately 12km. The first 4.8km is tarred and the remaining stretch is gravel road.

From Nelspruit via the N4

  • Take the last Middelburg / Van Dyksdrift off ramp just before Ultra City.
  • Turn left on the bridge to Middelburg and continue to a four-way stop.
  • Turn left onto the R555 to Emalahleni and travel for approximately 7.2km.
  • Turn right to Olifants River Lodge / Presidentsrus.
