Olifants River Lodge takes conferences, corporate functions, exhibitions, training seminars, school groups and church groups, and it has the room to do all of them at once. The Enkulu Centre carries four breakaway rooms that combine into a single space seating up to 800, and the smaller venues handle everything down from there. Delegates sleep on site across 245 beds, eat at Gramadoelas and spend the break outside on the lawns, which is a better use of an afternoon

The Enkulu Centre combines its four breakaway rooms into a single venue seating up to 800. Smaller venues run from 50 to 300 guests, so most group sizes are covered on the same property.

How many conference venues are there?

Olifants River Lodge runs a set of multi-purpose venues at the Enkulu Centre, ranging from rooms seating 50 up to the full centre at 800. Ask for the current venue list when you request a quote.

What audio-visual equipment is included?

In-house equipment covers Wi-Fi, data projectors, screens, televisions, video and DVD players, PA systems, flipcharts and a podium, with air-conditioning in every venue and copying and typing facilities on site.

Can delegates stay on the property?

Yes. Olifants River Lodge carries 245 beds across apartments, cabanas, log cabins, rondavels and chalets, so delegates sleep where they meet and nobody drives back to Middelburg at night.

Do you offer team building?

Team building is run at Olifants River Lodge by a professional operator across the grounds, the hills and the river. Programmes are tailor-made and range from short recreational sessions to full development days.

How far is the lodge from the airport?

The race starts at your own offices and navigates by clues and instructions, with pit stops at places of interest, ending at the secretly booked venue. A memorable way to arrive.

Top Chef Cookout

2 to 3 hours

A potjiekos competition, braai or breakfast cook-off, with secret ingredients and old recipes or simply whatever is on the table. It comes down to who the real cooks are.

Cocktail Creations

30 minutes to 1.5 hours

Teams build a cocktail from spirits, mixers, sugar, honey, milk or cream, blend it and hand it over for judging.

Smoothie Creations

30 minutes to 1.5 hours

Teams create a smoothie from fresh fruit and a few special ingredients. A good way to open or close a conference.

Based on the television format, with teams competing using household and office objects. Short, loud and reliably good for team spirit.

Presented by day or night, and it can be a music montage, a 30-second challenge or a short film festival.

Teams write a script, produce it and act in it. Lights, camera, and a screening nobody forgets.

Every team member paints an individual canvas, and the canvases assemble into one larger work, so each person contributes to a single shared result.

Blind balls, water games, wheelbarrow, three-legged and bag races, and a crazy race in which teams cross obstacles and complete tasks against the clock.

Traditional longbow archery with a basic introduction to handling and aiming, and a quick discovery of who has a natural talent for it.

Raft Building

Half day

Cryptic clues lead to the equipment, the team builds a raft that holds together, and then they race it.

Qolf

Somewhere between golf and croquet. Hit the ball through the Qolf frame, hone your chipping and pitching, and let every age group have a go.
