Take the N4 west towards Rustenburg and the Sun City off ramp, then follow the Finfoot signs. The last stretch runs 14km on gravel and 7.7km on sand inside the reserve. Phone reception to have the gate opened.

Yes. The gate at Finfoot Lake Reserve is opened by reception, so call the reception number when you arrive. It is worth saving it before you leave, since signal in the area can be patchy.

The reserve advises against approaching Finfoot Lake Reserve via Brits, because those roads are in poor condition. Check your GPS route before setting off.

Pilanesberg International Airport is about 49km from Finfoot Lake Reserve. Contact the reserve directly about transfer options, and allow extra time for the gravel and sand section.

The WhatsApp line at Finfoot Lake Reserve is staffed on weekdays during office hours and is not monitored after hours or over weekends. Use the reception number or central reservations outside those times.

Getting Here

Directions, from Johannesburg or Pretoria

Step 1: Travel on the N4 west towards Rustenburg. Take the Sun City off ramp and turn right towards Sun City.

Step 2: Travel for 47km through three four-way stops, at 2.7km, 23.5km and 15.7km respectively.

Step 3: 7.8km after the third four-way stop, turn right at the Finfoot sign. Look for the brown road sign reading Finfoot Lake Reserve 500m.

Step 4: Travel for 3km and turn right at the brown road sign for Finfoot Lake Reserve.

Step 5: Travel for 14km on gravel road. White road signs mark Finfoot Lake Reserve at 10km and 6km.

Step 6: Turn right and arrive at the gate, marked with a white Finfoot Lake Reserve sign.

Step 7: Phone reception on +27 (0)60 605 5878 to have the gate opened.

Step 8: Follow the Finfoot signs on the sand road for 7.7km until you reach the lodge.

Advisory: Check that your GPS route is mapped correctly. We do not advise taking the Brits route, as those roads are in poor condition.
