Piekenierskloof gives a wedding two things that are hard to arrange anywhere else at once: a horizon and a guest list under one roof. Ceremonies happen on the lawns under a wooden gazebo hung with sheer draping, with the Cederberg standing behind the couple and the Olifants Valley falling away below. Receptions move indoors to the versatile events centre. Guests stay on site in the hotel rooms and the self-catering chalets, the newlyweds get the honeymoon suite, and the bride’s morning runs through the wellness centre a few steps from her room. The catering, the bar, the setup and the staff are all the resort’s own.
