The Studio is the smallest of the three and the easiest to use. One open-plan room with a king-size bed, a bathroom with a free-standing Victorian bath and a separate shower, and a balcony with a gas braai looking into the forest canopy. It suits a couple, or one person who wants a base on the estate rather than a second home to run. The unit sits in one of ten blocks set through indigenous coastal forest below the lodge, so the walk to Eleven Tribes, the Trophy Bar and Deck, the rim-flow pool and Mangwanani Dream Spa is a short one. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors open onto the balcony and into forest carrying butterflies, bushbuck and birdsong.

Is the unit self-catering?

Not fully. The Studio has a bar fridge and a microwave rather than a kitchen, so it works best for guests happy to eat at the lodge. The 1 and 2 Bedroom units have full kitchenettes.
