FAQ

Zimbali Lodge & Spa is at 1 Lodge Lane inside Zimbali Coastal Estate at Ballito, on the KwaZulu-Natal Dolphin Coast. It is about 19.4km from King Shaka International Airport and roughly 30km north of Umhlanga Rocks.

You will be sent an SMS access code the day before you arrive. At the North Gate, security asks for your driver’s licence and a copy of your booking confirmation, so keep both to hand. Your room key then opens the gates for your stay.

The shuttle at Zimbali Lodge & Spa runs within Zimbali Coastal Estate, to the Valley of the Pools, which is a different service from an airport transfer. Speak to reception when you book and they will advise on getting to the lodge from King Shaka International.

Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is before 11:00 at Zimbali Lodge & Spa. Late check-out can be arranged with reception and carries an additional charge.

No. The WhatsApp line runs Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 17:00 and is not monitored after hours. Outside those times, call the lodge directly, and in an emergency ask for the Duty Manager.

Directions

From King Shaka International Airport (19.4km)

  • Take the N2 North towards Stanger and Richards Bay
  • Go through the Tongaat Plaza tollgate
  • Continue about 5km and take the Ballito / Compensation off-ramp, number 210
  • Turn right over the highway, pass the Shell garage, then turn right onto the M4 towards Durban
  • Zimbali Lodge is on the left-hand side and is marked by signage

From Umhlanga Rocks (30.1km)

  • Take the M4 and drive north towards Ballito
  • Pass Umdloti, La Mercy, Desainger, Tongaat and Westbrook
  • Zimbali Coastal Estate is about 5 minutes from Westbrook, on the right-hand side

On arrival

  • You will be sent an SMS access code the day before your arrival date. Security at the gate needs it.
  • At the North Gate, have your driver’s licence and a copy of your booking confirmation ready.
  • Your room key opens the estate gates for the rest of your stay.
